This evening, severe storms pounded the area and tornado sirens were going off.  With-in minutes, 911 operators began dispatching departments to respond to the area of East End for damage caused by a tornado.  Engine 11 and Chief 80 (with the ATV) responded to assist East End Fire.  As we responded, Command requested to the hardest hit area.  We arrived and began treatment of a family injured when there home was completely destroyed.  We utilized the 4-wheeler and trailer to transport all 3 injured to a ambulance over a mile away.  Once completed, we went door to door assisting others.  We were advised by command while doing this task, that another Tornado was quickly approaching and to find cover.  Chief Watson, Capt. McCormick, Lt. Poston and Chief Winfrey (East End) found a low area with a culvert and seek ed protection while the storm approached.  After the tornado storm went over, we went back to or original task.  Our crew assisted over 7 hours and returned to the city around 3am.  Good job guys.
